Fuse Trouble

Hi, I have a problem with selecting a new fuse for my battery. The battery is a currie electro drive and on the fuse it says 250 volts. I don't know how many amps is 250 volts because at the store they go by the amps. So please tell me what fuse will be right for my battery? The bike is an ezip.

eZip electric bicycles use a 40 Amp AGC fuse.
