There is a large nut on the back side of the charger port that needs to be turned in the counterclockwise direction to remove it from the charger port. Once the nut is removed then the charger port can be pushed outside of the panel that it is mounted in to remove it. The charger port's white plastic connector will not fit through the panel hole so the wires can be cut to get the old charger port out of the panel hole.
