Razor Go Kart won't work

I have a razor go kart that doesn't work. I know that the batteries are good because I took them from s razor scooter. I have purchased two replacement controller boxes. Both have gone up in smoke. Any ideas as to what I've done wrong or what I could do to make it work?

As soon as i put it on.
The polarity of the battery pack's wiring harness wires and the controller's battery wires must have been reversed. There are no second chances with controllers, they need to wired perfectly the first time or they will immediately burn out. We have been installing controllers for over 15 years and every once in a while we will wire one wrong and burn it out so we know how it goes.
