Does a Currie E-Force Flyer use a controller?

Does a Currie e-forc flyer use a speed controller or is it built into the motor?
The Currie E-Force Flyer electric scooter has a brushless motor with built-in speed controller. It simply needs to be connected to the power wire plug and the throttle wire connector in order for it to run.

The Currie E-Force Flyer electric scooter uses a 5K Ohm throttle. Most electric scooter throttles are the Standard (Hall Effect) type and not the 5K Ohm type.


We have 5K Ohm throttles that work with the E-Force Flyer scooter which are available on this page: http://electricscooterparts.com/throttles5kohm.html


On the page linked to above throttles item number THR-AWI5K and THR-MAG5KC have connectors on them that will plug directly into the E-Force Flyer scooter's motor.

Is there a simple way to test the electric motor on the E-forc flyer before I order the thr-aw15k throttle?

An inexpensive 5K Ohm potentiometer could be used to test the motor to make sure that it works before purchasing a throttle.
